Athletics

St. Mary's Academy has eight highly competitive athletic teams solely focused on empowerment, development, and competition that provide students the opportunity to train, compete, and build life-long bonds. Our teams compete within the Camino Del Rey Association, governed by California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), including basketball, flag football, soccer, track & field, cross country, softball, volleyball, and cheer. SMA athletic teams compete in the CIF Southern Section. Teams consistently advance to playoffs, especially track & field, winning various league and CIF championship titles. Numerous girls have received athletic scholarships and are competing at the collegiate level and beyond.

Our Athletic Department prides itself on developing the whole student athlete by meeting the mental, physical, and spiritual needs of each student. With 41% of students involved in athletics, Belles are provided the opportunity to train, compete, and lead. Our team culture is defined by a strong foundation of leadership, discipline, and camaraderie - a foundation that serves Belles well in college and beyond.

“As a volleyball player for all four years at St. Mary's and the lead Athletics Commissioner for three, athletics at SMA has truly had an impact on me. Once we step on the court, we are no longer divided by tie colors. We are one team, one family, and one sisterhood.”
