St. Mary’s Academy, a Catholic, private, college preparatory high school for young women, founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, shapes women of distinction who are committed to lifelong learning and service to the “dear neighbor”.

SMA serves the religiously, ethnically, and economically diverse populations of Los Angeles and Inglewood communities. Approximately 56% of students are Latina, 36% African-American, 6% Multiracial, and 2% Other.

Classes are distinguished by the color of their ties – gold, red, blue, and green. It is a tradition dating back to the 1920s and represents class unity and sisterhood.

 

 

CAREER PATH PROGRAMS

The Career Path Programs at St. Mary's Academy engage students in specifically designed courses and real world applications of careers in Health, Engineering, and the Arts.

 

ATHLETICS

SMA has seven highly competitive teams: basketball, cheer, cross country, soccer, softball, track & field, and volleyball.
